The Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) has contacted us following a new request for help from Morco, to advise owners toimmediately stop using specific models of its open-flued LPG water heaters that may leak gas and could cause fire or explosion.
This is an update and escalation of Morco’s Spring/Summer 2024 campaign to have heaters upgraded. It is a request for owners of all appliances affected, including those adjusted as a response to the that earlier campaign, to act immediately.
BSS has updated its webpage concerning the Morco water heaters and the BSS briefing for boat owners on the topic [LINK]. BSS will be promoting this link in its social media channels. BSS urges owners of the likely affected water heaters to read the Morco safety upgrade campaign webpage [LINK] and can advise owners how this issue may affect any upcoming BSS Examination.
