Why Register with MoorSafe?
If you live aboard your boat, it’s essential to ensure it can be easily located in the event of an emergency. When continuously cruising or away from your home mooring, emergency services may be unaware of your location, or even that you live on a boat.
To address this, the Residential Boat Owners’ Association (RBOA) are launching MoorSafe, a boat tracking service covering all UK inland and coastal waters. MoorSafe is designed to assist authorised emergency responders in locating your boat swiftly should you become unwell or injured when away from your boat.
- Peace of mind knowing your boat can be located in an emergency
- Covers all UK inland and coastal waters
- Designed for liveaboards and continuous cruisers
- Authorised access only - your data stays secure
- Discount for RBOA members
How Does MoorSafe Work
Sign up at moorsafe.co.uk
Create your account and securely register your details, your boat’s information, and an emergency contact (ICE). You can also include key info such as a nominated “Boat Buddy” who can move your boat for you, or information on how you would like your boat to be handled.
Get your MoorSafe ID card
Once registered, you’ll receive a personalised MoorSafe card with your unique ID number. Keep this in your wallet, phone case, or somewhere easily accessible, so that emergency responders can find it if needed.
Help is just a step away
If you’re taken ill or injured, authorised emergency services can use your MoorSafe ID to alert the system. MoorSafe can then quickly and easily locate your boat and follow the instructions you’ve provided, notify your nominated ICE contact and make arrangements to secure your boat and any pets, etc., that may still be aboard.
